A townhouse in the heart of old Fréjus
Four floors of character, sleeps five, next door to the cathedral

Tucked into a cobbled lane in the vieux village of Fréjus, 8 Rue des Parrets is a four-floor Provençal townhouse with everything you need for a relaxed stay on the Côte d'Azur. The house sleeps five across two bedrooms, and works equally well for a couple, two couples travelling together, or a family.
The old town is right outside your door — the Cathedral of Saint-Léonce is two minutes' walk, the Wednesday and Saturday markets are on your doorstep, and some of the best restaurants in Fréjus are within easy strolling distance. The beaches at Base Nature and Saint-Aygulf are a short drive or a pleasant walk.

Location
Roman history, Provençal charm, and the Côte d'Azur on your doorstep
Fréjus is one of the south of France's most underrated towns — rich in Roman and medieval history, with a thriving old town, excellent food, and some of the best beaches in the Var. The Cathedral of Saint-Léonce is two minutes from the house; the Roman amphitheatre, the markets, and the best restaurants are all within easy walking distance.
The location is exceptional for day trips: Saint-Raphaël is five minutes away, Cannes 35 minutes, Saint-Tropez 45, and the spectacular Gorges du Verdon an hour and a quarter inland.
Eat & Drink
Our personal favourites, all within walking distance
Maison de la Tarte
A boulangerie institution since 1973. Out of this world. Opens at 6:15am — go early for pastries that will set the tone for the whole day.
Brasserie Le QG
Our daily go-to for coffee, a casual lunch, or an early evening drink right on the cathedral square. Friendly, good value, perfect for watching the old town go by.
Les Copains d'Abord
Traditional French cooking done properly and without pretension. One of our favourite restaurants in the area. Book ahead — it fills up fast.
Old School
Around twenty beers on tap, tapas, and a terrace watching the boats. Our favourite evening bar — a proper pub at the marina.
Things to Do
From Roman ruins next door to the Gorges du Verdon
Plage de la Base Nature
Two kilometres of fine sand, supervised, with beach volleyball and views of the Estérel. Walkable or a short drive. Our go-to beach.
The Malpasset Dam
The ruins of the dam that collapsed catastrophically in 1959. A haunting, dramatic and completely different kind of outing. Free to visit.
Waterworld
A 4,000m² inflatable water park on a lake — slides, climbing walls, trampolines and a 9-metre jump. Great for families and couples.
Gorges du Verdon
Europe's answer to the Grand Canyon. Dramatic limestone gorges, turquoise water, kayaking and vertiginous viewpoints. Allow a full day.
